چکیده
Amblyopia is the most common cause of monocular visual impairment in both children, and young to middle-aged adults, affecting 2%–5% general population. The objective this study was compare peripapillary nerve fiber thickness macular amblyopic eyes, fellow eyes normal control using spectral domain optical coherence tomography. This a cross-sectional observational conducted at R M Kedia Eye Hospital, Birgunj, Nepal from February 2020 July 2020. Pediatric patients with unilateral amblyopia (anisometropic amblyopia, strabismic or both) among age group 6-18 years attending pediatric department RM Hospital were enrolled for study. All underwent full ophthalmological assessment, including visual-acuity testing, anterior segment evaluation Topcon slit lamp fundus examination Volk +90D lenses. statistical analysis done SPSS V. 20. average retinal layer 120.6 μm (SD=14.6 μm) eye, 118.1 (SD=15.6 eye 113.2 (SD=9.4 (p=0.104) respectively. 298.6 (SD=19.1 296.9 (SD=11.2 303 (SD=12.4 (p=0.260) In conclusion, our did not find any significant difference when compared between gender matched eyes.

To investigate the association between macular thickness and peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness in Chinese children. This cross-sectional study recruited consecutive cases of healthy pediatric subjects aged 4 to 18 from Caritas Medical Centre in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China, from 2013 to 2014. Subjects with only eye, ocular tumors, congenital glaucoma, co...

PURPOSE The peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness pattern in the normal human eye has been well characterized using data obtained with scanning laser polarimetry and optical coherence tomography. The authors sought to characterize the normative peripapillary RNFL thickness and pattern using histologic sections obtained from healthy postmortem human eyes. METHODS Seventeen u...

purpose : this study was designed to assess and compare the thickness of the peripapillar retinal nerve fiber layer (rnfl) in amblyopic and normal eyes in unilateral strabismic ambelyopia using scanning laser polarimeter. methods : scanning laser polarimetry was performed on 17 patients with unilateral strabismic amblyopia who had an absence of neurologic diseases or glaucoma with a minimum age...
متن کاملMacular and retinal nerve fiber layer thickness in unilateral anisometropic or strabismic amblyopia.
PURPOSE To compare the macular and nerve fiber layer thicknesses as measured by optical coherence tomography (OCT) in amblyopic and fellow eyes. METHODS Fifty patients with monocular strabismic (n = 25) or anisometropic (n = 25) amblyopia (best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) ranging from 20/40 to 20/400) were included in a prospective cross-sectional descriptive study. A refractive error more...
متن کاملRetinal nerve fiber layer thickness in unilateral amblyopia.
PURPOSE To test the hypothesis that eyes with amblyopia may have thicker retina, retinal nerve fiber layer thickness (RNFLT) was investigated in patients with unilateral amblyopia. METHODS Thirty-eight patients with unilateral amblyopia were studied. Among them, 20 patients had amblyopia with strabismus and 18 had refractive amblyopia without strabismus. Nineteen of 38 had anisometropia of 2....
